Neil Postmans book Technopoly: The Surrender of Culture to Technology is an oldie (1993!) but very much a goodie when it comes to writings about technology.

From my own perspective: The book discusses how technology is forever changing our way of life, by our own hands, as we become more and more immersed in it. It touches on how we are truly losing our cultural identity while technology becomes our culture.
